The first Leg.. Heathrow to Bangkok!
Day 1 - Bye bye Heathrow, Hello Thailand
After alot of farewells and a few tears, I am set to go and take my flight from Heathrow. 10 and a half hours later, on the largest plane I have ever seen, I land in Bangkok! I loved the flight and its 3 course meal, choice of movies and FREE alcohol service! By the way, I watched 'the invention of lying', what a funny movie! I havent slept a great deal as sleeping upright in a chair, isn't something i do often, but im ready to hit Thailand!
I head through to passport control and onto grab my bag, its strange being alone but ok. After the usual panic that my bag hasn't arrived and then struggling to put it on my back, i head outside to find my pick up bus. This was not as easy as i hoped and i wandered around for a bit, until I spotted Natalie, a girl form Brighton atcually, who is also looking for the same bus as me.. so we venture together. We eventually find it! Natalie got dropped at koh San Road and we arranged to meet later for a beer, i head onto my hotel, hotel de moc! There are many riots in Bangkok, loads of Thai people surrounding the Palace, wearing red t-shirts. I have no idea what this is about but didn't feel threatened!
6pm.. The group meeting! We all introduce ourselves and meet Apple the tour guide. There is that awkwar d first hour but after this and a nice meal of Pad Thai down town Bangkok, we head to Koh San Road and drink a lot! Koh San road is just as i expected, smelly, rammed, hot and full of tourists! I sampled Chang beer for the first time.... very nice :)
After our night out i head back to my room, which was quite nice actually and there i met Bea... my room mate for the next 14 nights. The end of day 1... all good so far!

Day 2 - Exploring Bangkok
I hook up with 2 people from the trip and we head to Koh San Road, where we take our first ride in a tuk tuk, these things are crazy! I saw my whole life flash before me and almost my breakfast too!
At hot and smelly Koh San road we meet Natalie.... After shopping and a bit of Buddha visiting, followed by lunch it was unfortunately time to say bye bye for now to my Brighton pal, as she takes another trip. I head back to the hotel, where we are all ready to head for our next little mission... The sleeper Train!!!
